She was born May 4, 1920, at Augusta County, a daughter of Stuart and Augusta Poole. She was a member of Basic United Methodist Church and had been active in the choir many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond K. S. Wetzel; and a son, Richard Wetzel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James Edward Reese of American Samoa and Fred Mosby Reese of Waynesboro. He retired from DuPont in 1984 after 37 years of service. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Waynesboro at his death, but had also served as deacon and held other positions during 25 years as a member of Westwood Baptist Church.

He served in the 20th Air Force, Army during World War II with service in the Pacific Theater on Saipan and Guam. He was a life member, adjutant and Past Commander of VFW Post 9339, Stuarts Draft, and served as Commander of the Post Burial Team for many years. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary Margaret Reese of Waynesboro; a son and daughter-in-law, William Thomas III and Carol Baird Reese of Jonesborough, three grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Reese, Jessica Katherine Reese, and Jason Thomas Reese, all of Jonesborough; his motherin-law, Mary S. Critzer of Waynesboro; a sister-in-law, Doris E. Critzer of Waynesboro; four nieces; and a nephew.

Trudy Eavey, 37, of 4331 Lee Jackson Highway, Greenville, was charged with forging a check made payable to a family member.

The $1,250 check was then cashed at Planters Bank of Augusta County, police said. The offense occurred in July 1998. The victim recently did a credit check and determined that the check had been forged. Eavey was charged with one count each of forging and uttering and obtaining money by false pretenses. Cecil H.

The Daily News Leader Two in dump truck wreck treated, released STAUNTON An accident occurred at 8:40 a.m. Thursday at U.S. 11 and Va. 612, sending two to the hospital, Virginia State Police said. CarLanna Jean Bordt, 41, of P.O.

Box 17B, Fishersville, was traveling in the left lane when Clara Woods, 79, of P.O. Box 36, Swoope, switched lanes and cut in front of Bordt's vehicle. Woods and a passenger, Charlotte Woods, 58, were taken to the Augusta Medical Center, treated and released. Police estimated $500 damage to Bordt's 1987 Kenworth Dumptruck and $3,000 damage to Woods' 1989 Ford fourdoor Sedan. Woods was charged with improper lane change.
