We are super thrilled to win the 2024 FICCI Publishing Awards for AKELA in the ‘Children’s Book of the Year - English (10 & Above) category, YAY, YAY! This is one of the very few award platforms in the country that looks at a book in its entirety, and I’m so happy to see the beautiful team work of Richa Jha (author), Ruchi Shah (illustrator), Archana Atri (editor) and Shakil Khan (designer) getting recognised. Our hugest thank you to the jury members. This one is special, beyond measure. ❤️

We had a most wholesome conversation around #motherhood earlier this week at the India International Centre, Delhi. The lived realities, perspectives and insights shared with utmost honesty by our fabulous speakers Pooja Pande, Kavita Bundelkhandi and Vandana Sharma packed a powerful punch, and left us with much food for thought. And also left us wishing we had had way more time than just the hour that we did for it. While no one single forum can ever be enough to unpack every aspect that a subject like this encompasses, we are happy that we got us talking. The active participation by the attendees was a delight. Thank you to everyone for having made the effort on a Monday evening to come for this. The evening’s discussions flowed from our recent title MOMMIES, written by Richa Jha, illustrated by Priya Sebastian and edited by Archana Atri. It gives us great joy and satisfaction to see a picture book for readers as young as three being an important and effective conversation-starter, in homes, at schools, and at public forums such as this one was. Our huge thank you to the India International Centre for co-hosting the event. And a big one to the Khabar Lehariya team too for having helped us spread the word wide. A sharp salute to the fearless women in the team. Thank you, Delhi NCR! We’re sharing some pics from the evening. #motherhood #poojapande #kavitabundelkhandi #vandanasharma #mommies #pickleyolkbooks

We are HUGELY excited to share this special something we have planned with the India International Centre for all our Delhi Pickle Yolk friends! For a fluid conversation, we will seemlessly switch between English and Hindi. When: July 22, 2024 | Tea at 6pm, followed by the session at 6:30pmWhere: Conference Room 1, India International CentreMore on this, in the days to come. Do mark your calendars for now. Tis the season of the @bankstreetlibrary’s annual announcement of the #BestChildrensBooks in the US, and we just realised (three years late, oops) that ANI’S LIGHT by @Tanushree and @SandhyaPrabhat was on the 2021 list! Never too late to celebrate a good news, of course. And never too late to wonder how we missed it back then! Give us a moment to explain the three titles. So we created this most beautiful book and called it It’sDark. @penguin published it as Darkless (how we LOVE the this title) in India. And @MaginationPress took it to the US as Ani’s Light and gave it a different cover. This much-loved picturebook has touched the hearts of young readers, their parents, teachers, librarians and educationists everywhere, and garnered loads of critical appreciation and recognition along the way. Goes without saying that we are mighty proud to have created this beauty. Our hugest congratulations to #tanushreesingh and #sandhyaprabhat! 🥂#bankstreetlibrary #anislight #pickleyolkbooks #pickleyolkdelights #penguinrandomhouseindia #puffinbooks #maginationpress #americanpsychologicalassociation

It brings us great joy to see our Dance of the Wild on the shelves of the Museum Rietberg Shop in Zurich, Switzerland. This gorgeous title of ours has been a part of their handpicked and meticulously-curated set of (mostly) non-European art and handicraft objects, and books since 2022. It’s just been restocked there, our happy dance thus! DANCE OF THE WILD by Richa Jha and Ruchi Mhasane. #pickleyolkbooks #pickleyolkdelights #ruchimhasane #richajha #danceofthewild #indiankidlit #picturebooksfromindia
