WE’RE ALSO FOLLOWING SEVERAL TOP STORIES AROUND THE TRIAD THIS AFTERNOON, SPECIFICALLY IN WINSTON-SALEM. POLICE SAY THEY’VE MADE AN ARREST IN A DEADLY SHOOTING FROM NOT TOO LONG AGO. OFFICERS HAVE CHARGED JAKE GAGNE, THE FOURTH, WITH MURDER. HE IS ACCUSED OF KILLING RASHAD SIMS. SIMS WAS SHOT ON ELFRIDA DRIVE JUST LAST WEEK AND LATER DIED FROM HIS INJURIES AT THE HOSPITAL. WE’RE TOLD THE SUSPECT AND VICTIM DID KNOW EACH OTHER, GAGNE IS DUE IN COURT ON MONDAY. GREENSBORO POLICE LOOKING FOR A DRIVER THEY SAY HIT AND KILLED A PEDESTRIAN. THE CRASH HAPPENED AROUND 9:00 LAST NIGHT AT THE INTERSECTION OF WEST CONE BOULEVARD AND DELLWOOD DRIVE. POLICE HAVE NOT NAMED THE PERSON HIT. THEY SAY THE DRIVER LEFT THE SCENE DRIVING EAST ON WEST CONE BOULEVARD. OFFICERS BELIEVE THAT DRIVER WAS IN A LATE 2000 MODEL SILVER TOYOTA COROLLA. THEY SAY THE CAR WILL HAVE FRONT END DAMAGE AND A SHATTERED FRONT WINDSHIELD. ALSO OUT OF GREENSBORO, A FLIGHT AT PTI DID NOT TAKE OFF AS PLANNED THIS MORNING BECAUSE A GARBAGE TRUCK CRASHED INTO ITS WING. AMERICAN AIRLINES FLIGHT 1716 WAS PARKED ON THE TARMAC ON THE SOUTH CONCOURSE, SCHEDULED TO GO TO DALLAS FORT WORTH INTERNATIONAL. AMERICAN AIRLINES SAYS NO ONE WAS INJURED.
